Hair Loss News: Update on Hair Regeneration

Here is some important hair loss news.

At a recent conference Aderans Research Institute shared some of the latest findings from their Phase 2 stem cell hair regeneration trials.

The following is an extract from their press release – it has some exciting news, although it is ambiguous.

“Most recently, Washenik attended the 2011 International Congress Against Hair Loss Research in Paris, a

global congress of hair restoration expertise held in France. There, he addressed both medical and non-medical

specialists, researchers and surgeons in a lecture about cellular treatments for hair regeneration.”

“Our goal is to find a solution for pattern hair loss using cellular hair regeneration, and the more exchange we

have with others in the industry, the closer we get,” said Vern Liebmann, Chief Operating Officer.

Aderans Research recently completed the first of seven protocols of a hair regeneration Phase 2 clinical study.

More than half of study participants showed significant hair growth one year after the cell product treatment

was administered. Ongoing trial protocols are evaluating additional variants from ARI's Ji GamiTM family of

follicular cell products.”

What does all this actually mean? Well we don't know to be certain…. it's all very ambiguous.

The press release doesn't tell us how many hairs grew on the scalp, how the hair looked (colouration, texture, curl), whether it was orientated (hair direction) correctly, what the hair quality was like, how long it lived for, etc etc???? These are all important questions we would like to know. It seems to indicate to us there is still much to achieve – if they was fabulous success they would be shouting it from every media outlet and news source!!! But we look forward to hearing of the future results, more details and what benefits may accrue to all of us in the hair loss community.
